The Venue
A purpose-built 120-seat comedy theatre in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, with a full-service bar and late-night atmosphere.
The Theatre
Stand Abiss opened in 2014 after converting a heritage-listed warehouse on Russell Street into Melbourne's most intimate comedy room. The raked seating ensures clear sightlines from every row, while acoustic panels keep sound crisp without losing the energy of a live crowd.
The stage is just 1.2 metres high — close enough to feel the comedian's presence, elevated enough for visibility. A professional lighting rig and broadcast-quality microphones mean every show is production-ready, whether we're recording a podcast or hosting a festival preview.
